News update on Acuan's kelong

Because there are so many inquiries on fishing trip at Acuan's kelong, I hereby sincerely apologize for the late update. Due to typhoon, which had tore aparts the kelong, there won't be any trip on this kelong anymore. I will update on a better kelong with accommodation and fishing package on Akau's resort. Once again, I sincerely apologize for this late update. Dikarenakan kelong Acuan hancur diterjang angin topan, semua paket Tour ke kelong Acuan ditiadakan lagi. FISHING TRIP AFTER SO LONG

 It has been months since I last wash my fishing arsenals with sea water. And finally, I have the chance and time to go and dip them in and try to lie some fish with lures. This trip, we went to Pulau Buaya that known as one of the fishing paradise for monster fish among people around Riau Islands. To go there, we have to drove from Batam to Pulau Galang Baru for around one and a half hour, and then boat trip to the South for almost 3 hours. The fare for a 2 day fishing ranges from Rp. 2,8 Million to Rp. 3 Million not inclusives of baits. We brought along some squids for baits that day. Water is quite clear and the weather was a bit cloudy.

we arrived at around 6PM on our first spot. Feeling excited, we hook on the first bait with live fish that we caught moment ago, and within few minutes, a strong jerk on the rod and the fighting begin. It only took 6-7 minutes to know who win the fight. It was a 8kg Queen Fish (ikan talang). Not a bad start afterall....

After that, due to the baits that we bought were not fresh enough, and some of them have gone smelly, the rest of the night, we were ended only with some mediocre sized fish which not worth to mention.

Disappointed by our last trip, we decided to plan another trip for the week after. Now with better preparation, we bought 3kg of "live squids' from the local fisherman. We managed to fished up a 17kg rare shovel head ray, 15kg sting ray, and some good sized fish. The water condition is beautiful, but we were visit by a rain storm at around 2AM with strong west wind and 2-3 meter waves. If there was no storm that night, I believe, it will be a monster fish frenzy for us.

Tomorrow, I'm gonna go for another fishing trip. Who wanna come along?

MY FISHING BOAT

It is exciting enough to own a car and drive everywhere you want to go. But it is more when you drive your own boat and exploring the sea and places where car can't go. Spotting an empty island with white sandy beach and just 'park' the boat and jump into the crystal clear water. Packed ourselves with some picnic'c foods and beverages and of course, wines.

The privacy and freedom of getting out from the hectic and stressful city life. No hand phones, no laptops just serene ambient between us and mother nature. It's so funny when we cruised under the Barelang Bridge which I usually pass. Watching the bridge from below. People fishing from above the bridge watching us pass their fishing line. But it's so bad that I haven't tried it for serious fishing yet. Still looking for serious partners to go along with me.

It is not a very big boat. With 200Hp Yamaha machine, I can say it cruise quite fast on the water. Seeing the wave breaks when the boat hit them. It gives a type of calmness and rid off all the stress hormone from the blood system

Somebody, please ask me out for a date!!! a fishing date....

I'm not that desperate until have to beg somebody to take me out. But any offer would be nice to think that the zero trip I went fishing since 2 months ago. Now opening new shops in BCS mall, selling some girls stuffs, makes me go online more often than before. Not having interest anymore at watching up and down lines of Forex graphic but rather updating and playing games on FaceBook (what the hell??).

Nowadays, everybody I met sitting in a cafe with wifi and having their laptop on table, looking so seriously staring at the screen as they worry that the shares might drop if they took their eyes off a second. Thought that they are maybe too busy that they have to carry their job even at lunch time, instead they are all updating their facebook and busy feeding and bathing their pets in petsociety. Some are busy planting and harvesting their crops. It seems that facebook has enchanted peoples' mind that even some of them sacrificing their Saturday night hanging out with living people, and Sunday with their family and children, for the sake of chatting and playing with their virtual friends and people that mostly they don't know. I may be talk quite loads of rubbish here, but me myself, like I said, also 'attached' to this global phenomena.

Enough said, found out that even our animal friend knows how to fish their fish for lunch. Instead of hunting for preys, it baits the fishes to come using bread as baits. Not only us human know how to use our brain. This bird does too...please enjoy..

Finding the mood back...

It has been ages since I fished last time. There's no urge for me to fish at all. It is not because I don't have time because of too much jobs waiting for me to be done. On the contrary, I have all the time in the world to fish, but I just don't wanna.

Recently, I just purchased a fishing boat and been looking of what type of machine to be properly fitted to the boat. My choice fall to 200HP out board motor from Yamaha. It consumes 70 liter of gasoline for every hour, I just hope that it can run as fast as it drinks too. My initial intention is too have a private fiberglass boat decent enough for me to take for fishing with some friends. Not too fancy, just decent enough. I just hated the small sampan that I usually chartered. Too tiring and shaky. Not too mention lots of excuses made from the tekong whenever there's no fish at the so called "secret spot"...

I discussed with wife on paint job for the boat. Jokingly, I suggested it to be painted in Hello Kitty colors and named it Kitty Boat....she agreed and that's what we'll do to the boat...hehehe...

No pics for the boat at the moment, since I would like people to look at her when she's pretty with all the make up on...

Pray to God that the boat can be taken out for her grand tour by next week to explore more secret fishing spot shared by friends...wish me luck guys....

THIS IS REALLY GOOD!!! TRY IT!! It's value for money...my whole family are using this product now...bathing has always been a routine that we have to do everyday. But now, bathing is more enjoyable after I used this Omnion Spa Shower. Squid season is here again!!!! Hurray...

These few days, squids are coming back again. Water is perfect and the habitat underwater is getting better. Seaweeds have grown back. And no more further explanation needed since picture says a thousand words....

Good catch on bad season....

Water condition is still not that perfect. It has been days that I got only 2 or 3 squids. Today, I decided to go early at around 3 PM to start with fishing for some selars. Got quite good size selars days before.

My wife and friend start with fishing for selars. As for me, which is not that much of a fish guy, I went for squid instead although it's still too hot and bright.

My intention to fish at bright day is to test my Yamashita Natural Color series. Because squidding during night time didn't produce any good strike. Yamashita natural color series don't have any glittering skin or bright color. It tends to be darker and I judge that it's not that good to use it at night compared to day time. And as I thought, it produced 4 squids in less than 1 hour (note. 4 is good amounts due to recent bad water condition).

Later when it got darker, I choose to use Yamashita Egi oh Q Soku gold. Its white belly will turn to gold color when it touches water...amazingly beautiful. I highly recommend this one. It produced 6 strikes in less than 1 hour. Some emerged squid charges to the egi directly without testing it first with its tentacles. Very very good stuff. Happy enough, and because some groups of company having a dinner gathering, and the smell of food made worms in my stomach active, I decided to go back for big seafood meal at Nagoya.
